As a mom of five, I LOVE the pressure cooker. So many easy and delicious meals, many of them "one pot", making my life easier.

If you are an avid googler of Instant Pot recipes you've probably came across the blog Amy+Jacky. Everything I have tried from them has been foolproof. It's also a great resource for how long to cook certain things, even if you want to change up the flavors. Thanks guys!

This recipe is for a whole chicken cooked in a deep poaching method that cooks for ZERO MINUTES, the chicken finishes cooking during the natural release (which varies depending on the size of your bird) and leaves you with a great broth base and moist, tender poultry. Smooth on some BBQ sauce and throw it under the broiler for 10-15 minutes and Voila! Some of the best damn BBQ chicken that I have ever made. You can find the recipe here

It's been forever. I hope to begin posting more soon. For now I'll shar this neat pattern for the temporarily disabled
:)

I am a giant klutz and I fell. Apparently I have a flake of bone fractured off my hip so I am crutch bound for the near future. I see an orthopedic doctor tomorrow so we'll see what happens.

Anyone who has needed crutches knows how uncomfortable the armpit part is. I got to thinking "hey! I bet I can crochet covers for them!" I turned to trusty Google and was not disappointed by the ONE pattern that exists. Find it here at The Whole Ball of Yarn

Now my crutches are grannylicious! ;)

Since my last post my daughter has turned five and I have been working on Christmas goodies. Of course I didn't even think about making presents until the end of October so I'ma rushin'! Oh and my baby boy turns one on Monday! Where did the time go?? I did make my daughter a sweater in November, see it on my ravelry. I also made a couple of monster hats for a little boy, see them on ravelry here. I will do a more complete post with pictures of all my Christmas goods and links to the patterns if they have them.

Right now I am going to share the little guys I made for the kid's stockings. I haven't made one for the youngest yet. They're so quick and fun that I've been saving the last one as treat for completing other things. :D I call them little Zombie Monsters. Here is the pattern- Mini Pillow Pals- An Amigurumi Friend. I love them!

I am currently making hats for the kiddos. So far I have the baby's and my eldest child's done! Here they are :) The brown and green one started out as an earflap hat using the pattern from AlliCrafts but I decided to add a couple of rows and skip the earflaps.

My daughter's hat was made using the toddler pattern for her ear flap hat and one size bigger hook, I then went to good old google and browsed photos of crocheted owl hats and made my hat how I wanted it. :)

I am currently working on a monster hat for my middle guy! Using the toddler size hat pattern and again I utilized google for ideas. I should have it done tomorrow!

I am VERY pleased with how they turned out! :D

Soooo, I have decided to use my blog to share other things I do also. I love cooking and doing fun things with the kids. Usually I Google recipes and instructions for everything! So I'll share the links.

A couple of days ago my daughter asked to play with some playdoh. Five minutes in I hear my daughter (4) and my son (2) fighting over the lone container of green. So I decided to find a recipe, I happened to have everything on hand so I got to work. Even small children can help with measuring and mixing the raw ingredients into the saucepan and then mama (or daddy) can cook it.

This recipe says to add the food coloring before cooking but I didn't. I separated it into balls and then kneaded the colors in. Wear some rubber gloves or use plastic wrap to protect your hands because food coloring will definitely stain! I also doubled the recipe, used coarse sea salt because that's all I had, used olive oil and added white glitter into it which adds a nice little shimmer.

Hands down the best playdoh ever, natural too. We shall never buy playdoh again!!

A few of them even have names :)

Ribbon Dracaena -Hector

Ginseng Ficus "bonsai"

Flaming sword bromeliad (she has a pup growing!

Golden gate peperomia(my daughter's first houseplant!)

Bush on fire Croton - Triton

Gold star croton

Golden Pothos

Some plant projects we have going on...

I have quite a few pothos cuttings sprouting in water and I am looking forward to making them into a pretty new plant.

I am doing a little "experiment" with a little ginseng ficus branch, I have it soaking in water and it has started to get little white bumps on the bottom of it. I am hopeful that these are little root nubs!

I just gave Hector the dracaena a haircut! I admit the bottom of the plant looks really sad but, I have the lush tops in water so they can root and make new plants. :) new leafy shoots should grow off the bottom part eventually too!

My daughter and I made a mini "greenhouse" out of a deep aluminum pan with a plastic lid. Two days ago we started some zinnias and moss roses in there. We sowed the seeds in some jiffy strips and last night I saw zinnia roots and this morning we had sprouts! The moss roses also have sprouts, but they're so tiny I can't get a good picture off my phone. (I am posting from my phone ) We are going to transfer them to a large planter and put them at the top of our back stairs when they are large enough.

I just received our Mimosa Pudica seeds today! Also known as the sensitive plant, it's leaves close up when you touch it! I can't wait to start these seeds with the kids, it will be a blast!

I will do some crocheting soon, I promise!

For now it's time to find some foxtail fern seeds! I think they are so neat!

I am soooo sorry I haven't put the new pattern up yet! BUT I was wondering if any of you would like to share pictures of your completed projects? I would LOVE to see them. I will make a post specifically dedicated to showing off everybody's awesome work. You can email me your pictures at Linknit0315@gmail.com. If you would like, include your name, email or website and what yarn you used. I really am looking forward to seeing your work!

Baby boy has been super cranky, teething and not sleeping well at all which means I have not been sleeping well and we're all going through a cold! Oh my, it's just been hectic around here.

I am working on a new pattern for a cotton (for summer) chin-strap hat in size 6 months for lil man. I will *hopefully* be posting it in the next couple days.

Here is a cute diaper cover and hat set I made a couple weeks ago. It went to my friend in Florida who is having a baby girl! Sorry about the pictures being sideways, I am posting this from my phone and I don't know what's up with that.

Happy Hooking!

Well a friend of mine saw my crochet on facebook and got me in touch with a photographer she knows! yay! Well, said photographer needs a cocoon with a matching hat. We haven't talked color yet but I had this skein of Bernat Premium in taupe and I just love the color so I decided to try and make my own cocoon. I was envisioning a really textured looking sack with triple crochet and I managed to make it work :)Then I made the green and pink on in Caron Simply Soft and added a flower to the hat. I am probably going to try this with some thicker yarn and a smaller hook also and I will let you know how it turns out! Here is the pattern for my newborn cocoon with matching hat.
I just finished the most adorable diaper cover set! My babe thinks there are too many ruffles going on, but I am most definatly in love! These pictures aren't the best and they don't show the true colors but I had to share! I will update this post with a photo in the sunlight, where the colors show correctly.

The hat reminds me of those russian roller hats with the fur... what do you think? I will post the pattern for this hat soon!! It is extremely simple :) Have a great day!

Well my three month old is starting to drool! So I decided I should whip up some bibs for my little "cutie". I love to make my bibs with buttons, no fuzzy velcro and they're not easily ripped off by baby. Made from cotton yarn so they are easy to care for, just throw them in the washer.
I have made bibs before but the result was never consistent. I have made three bibs from this pattern. I am pretty sure it works, but let me know if you have any problems.
Enjoy!
What You'll Need
Size I Hook
sc- single crochet
ch- chain
sc2tog- single crochet 2 together

It's simple and fun to whip these washcloths up. I use them so much.
They are nice and big, great for covering up baby's belly to keep them warm in the tub and easy to wrap around your hand for washing. I use mine every day! In the photos I didn't chain loosely so the bottom is a little uneven but if you chain loosely it will be even.
I don't always make them the same so I decided to figure out a pattern, my first pattern!
What You'll Need
Size H hook
WW cotton yarn
Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends
Row 1: ch. 23 very loosely, sc in 2nd chain from hook, sc across. (22 sc)
Row 2-24: ch1, turn, sc across. Do not end off. (22 sc)
You can change colors here if you like.
Border: ch2, dc all the way around, placing 3 dc in each corner stitch. Join with first dc, end off.
Weave in all loose ends.
Enjoy! I think I will have to write out my face cloth pattern and share it with you soon. Nicely textured in hdc to help buff off dry skin.
This is a super simple pattern but, if you have any questions just leave a comment. I will gladly get back to you.
If you make this please leave me a link to some pictures! I would love to see them.
Please do not claim this pattern as your own, you can sell the finished product but, if you sell online please link back to this pattern. Thanks! :)
It is here. I have a sweater at home that would be perfect for this, it's a funky yarn that I love! What a great way to economize this addiction of mine! Can't wait to see how it turns out, I'll let you all know, with photos included of course. Diaper covers and hats!

Well here we go! I have been crocheting up a storm the past few days ( in between the demands of two small children and a growing baby!) I found a free diaper cover pattern at The Bradens, she has other patterns available too. I took this pattern and made three pairs with hats. My first attempt was the blue and green set, simple and cute. The second one I made was the brown and pink set. I really had fun with this one! I gave the diaper cover and hat ruffled edges, sweet spirals on the hat and a big flower on the bum.. can't you imagine a sweet baby girl snoozing on her belly with the flower right there :) The earflap hat pattern is from AlliCrafts, I used it for both earflap hats. Lastly we have the grey and green set with a munchkin hat! Free pattern from Neanners Shop. Enjoy! :)

The blue and green sweater here and the funky little cardigan here are from her patterns:) also the cardigan in brown and green which is the one I made for my friend. The sweater in purple variegated is actually a variation of the sweater from Bella Bambina found on Christina's Sunshine Haven. The pattern for the brown and green booties can be found here. The pattern for the brown and green hat with visor here. The bibs are variations of basic patterns :). Oh and the funky little slippers I made for Mikey here.Well I just wanted to share a few things with you for now. I made a cute little diaper cover last night and I need to finish up the matching hat. I am going to make a few sets and then post pictures and the links to the patterns for you all. Whoever has read this :P if you want the patterns for anything that I've forgotten, just ask and I'll try to dig it up for you. If you are interested in the bib, I currently have it on ebay. Have an awesome day :) btw it's my 6th anniversary today! So happy anniversary to my babe, I love you!

My name is Lindsey. I guess I will start off my first post with a little bit about me. I am a stay at home mom to three great kids! Madison is four, Michael is two and Nicolas will be three months on the 17th. Right now things are pretty busy here to say the least. :-P

Well I started this blog as a place to share and document my crochet projects and I guess whatever else catches my fancy. I learned to crochet when I was 14. Let's just say I started quite a few blankets. None of them were completed. During both of my first two pregnancies I started blankets that I never finished. Maybe I have an issue with completing things? ;) Well, with Nicolas I decided I was going to pull out that bag of forgotten baby blankets and finish one. Once finished, I decided I would really like a matching hat to go with it... and that is where it started! I found a written out pattern and made a hat and then I was addicted. Well if you ever tried to find written out patterns then you know those are in short supply and crochet patterns look like they are written in some foreign language when you don't know how to read them! Well I taught myself to read them and the different stitches and went craaaaazy! Haha. No, really. I was obsessed. I made my son 3 sweaters and a pea coat and countless hats, washcloths. Recently I have been crocheting cotton bibs and I made a sweater set, bib and washcloths for a friend who just had the most adorable baby boy :) I am planning on starting an etsy shop once I create some more original patterns and/ or buy patterns I can sell from. I do have a bib on ebay currently, we'll see how that goes! Well I am working on a diaper cover so I'm gonna scoot!
